In Christianity, God is the creator of everything. He created the universe and everything in it. God created with value and purpose. He had a plan for the universe and everything inside of it including humans with everything was created how it was supposed to be (Grand Canyon University, 2015).

The order of creation and peace is referred to the term Shalom. When Shalom is broken, humans are disobeying God as Adam and Eve once did. This is referred to as the Fall. When God’s rules are dismissed, sin enters into the world through the Fall resulting in spiritual and physical death (Grand Canyon University, 2015).

In Christianity redemption refers to the deliverance of sin. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life and died on the cross for our sins. God makes salvation and forgiveness available after the Fall if one has faith which in return, sin and wrongdoing is made right.

When one has faith and askes for forgiveness they are born again. When born again, one’s relationship with God is restored (Grand Canyon University, 2015).

One can find comfort and hope in the light of illness by knowing that God had a plan before he even created us. Whatever sickness and disease one is going through was in God’s plan. Having faith and belief helps provide comfort during these times of illness.
