Please answer clear and concisely and focus your attention to the textbook Getting Real about Race by Stephanie McClure and Cherise Harris(2015).
1. The “Archie Bunker” stereotype that lesser-educated working class whites are more likely to spout racism than more educated persons is not supported by the sociological research presented here. Why do you think we assume that education makes people “less racist”—what are we assuming about the U.S. education system that is not really there?
2. Reflect on your own high school or other recent educational experience where “racial middle” groups were present—take note of who socialized with whom, who dated whom, and any other “pecking order” indicators of hierarchy, and compare your own experience to the assigned readings. Did you notice a tri-racial order, or something else?
