to your culture? Where do you think these stereotypes stem from? What
steps, historically, has the culture you assimilate with taken to
rebuke these stereo-types?

2. What images do you have about other cultures? Be honest in how your upbringing may have helped shape those images.

brainstorming device, answer the following questions in essay
form. This short essay (1500-1750 words in length) must follow all APA
standards.

A. What identities are most important in shaping your
life? How has each identity contributed to your view of yourself and
people who share that identity as well as your view of those who do
not share that identity?

B. How has each identity contributed to your view of the world?

A. What are your initial thoughts on this exercise begin utilized in an ECE classroom?

B. Would you integrate this into your own classroom? Why or why not?

C. Identify a specific age group and discuss how you would
start to get children thinking about differences in the classroom in a
positive way.

Assignment: Part 2

Write a response of at least 300 words for each of the three prompts:

• What was one of your earliest experiences concerning race? Describe
  the experience, how you felt, and how the experience was handled. If you
  could rewrite that experience, how would you change it and/ or how it
  was handled?
• Explain the concept of “best practice” and what it means in the
  context of diversity strategy. What are the challenges of developing and
  implementing best practices? What are the potential benefits?
• What are some of the ways that Pitney Bowes has aligned its goals
  for diversity with a market-driven approach to meeting its customers’
  needs? Be specific.
