Pragmatics governs how the form and content of language is used. It includes the intentions of language, body language, and the ability to provide an appropriate amount of information to the person with whom you are speaking.
Provide an example of when your ability to communicate due to an error in pragmatics resulted in miscommunication between you and the listener. Observe a child under the age of 2. If you do not have access to a child, then examine one on your favorite television program or through the Internet. Note his or her level of communication and his or her communication skills.
